Last week, the Seneca CEO students got a behind-the-scenes look at entrepreneurship during our visit to Bailiwicks Coffee Company with Jess Wirth, owner, operator, and coffee roaster of 14 years. Jess shared how strong standards, structure, and consistency are the secret ingredients to retaining employees, building on strengths, and adapting to trends. She also reminded us that great leaders know when to call in expert help.
Jess’s advice for brewing up business success:
☕ No two days will look the same. Be ready to wear many hats and embrace the pace.
☕ Understand the responsibility. Ownership brings flexibility and control, but the work and accountability never truly stop.
☕ Lead by example. Be present, visible, and willing to do the work you expect from your team to build trust and respect.
Huge thanks to Jess and Bailiwicks Coffee Company for pouring into our students and the Tiffin community!
